Doncaster’s Beau Greaves begins her 2026 PDC World Darts Championship campaign against world number 22 Daryl Gurney today (19th December).
Her inclusion in the championships comes after she finished second in the Winmau Development Tour rankings, which secured her a Tour Card for the upcoming 2026/27 seasons.
However, her biggest success of 2025 so far came in the 2025 PDC Women's Series, as she finished the competition with the highest total of prize money ever earned in a single campaign, £37,600.
On being back at the world championships after her successful season, Greaves said, “It’s nice. I didn’t play for three years because I wanted to become Ladies World Champion and things like that, so I kind of wanted that part of my life.”
“Then, just playing really well on the tour this year and kind of wanting a future in the male side of it, I just decided that now was the right time to play again. I’ve kind of done it all on my own terms and been ready for it, so I feel really positive, and I feel confident, and I’m just going to go into that game just like any other and try my best.”

Greaves has already made history this year, as she became the first player in PDC history to occupy the top spot on the Development Tour, Challenge Tour and Women's Series Order of Merits.
She has also played her part in making the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship a historical competition, as she qualified alongside four other female players, meaning that for the first time in the world championship's history, five women will compete.
On the fact that there are five women competing, Greaves said, “It’s absolutely amazing. I think even though I’m kind of leaning towards the male side of the sport at the minute, I’ve absolutely always loved ladies’ darts. I think it’s amazing that we’re getting more ladies into it every year, and it’s great to have the professional tour include us.”
“It’s just the exposure that we kind of want more of. I think there are a lot of great ladies’ darts players out there; we just don’t see them all the time because there are just a lot more men than ladies, so I’d love to see more and more ladies in it every year, and I really, really hope that we kind of play well and show what we can do.”
From April to October 2025, she won 86 consecutive matches in the PDC Women's Series, beating her own previous record of 70 straight wins to secure her place in history books at only 21 years old.

However, her history-making 2025 didn’t stop there, as she became only the second woman ever, after Lisa Ashton in 2020, to earn a spot on the professional darts circuit through the tour card system as she gets ready to join the PDC Pro Tour ahead of next year.
At the 2026 World Darts Championship, Greaves will be hoping to improve on her debut showing in the PDC World Darts Championship back in 2022, as she was beaten by William O’Connor in the first round despite making history as the youngest woman to feature in the tournament at the age of 18.
On how her approach has changed after her 2022 campaign, Greaves said, “I think I was so nervous last time I played; I just felt like I shouldn’t have been there, but I think I’ve had so much more experience leading up to this year.”
“I feel like I’m playing better on stage, so I’m hoping when it all comes to it that I just play well and enjoy the game. Even if I lose or I win, it’s nice to play well and get a bit of confidence going into the new year.”
Her match tonight against Daryl Gurney will take place in the evening session of day 9, which will begin at 7 pm to bring the opening round of the world championship to a close.
