Jorvik Tricycles, the UK’s leading tricycle company, has successfully completed the National Three Peaks challenge in aid of Parkinson’s UK.

The National Three Peaks challenge requires those partaking to summit Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and YR Wyddfa (also known as Snowden) within 24 hours.

Jorvik Tricycles’ team undertook the challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Parkinson’s UK charity, with more than £1,800 being raised to date.

Their founder James Walker was inspired to create the business as he made his first tricycle in 2014 to support his father after he could no longer ride a traditional bike due to Parkinson’s.

Now more than a decade on from their humble beginnings in York, the organisations have become a multi-million-pound retailer and have supported more than 37,000 customers worldwide.

On his team completing the challenge, Walker said, "We are incredibly proud of the team for completing such a tough challenge and supporting a cause so close to our hearts.”
“Parkinson’s UK has always been central to the Jorvik Tricycles story, and being able to contribute to the charity’s work in this way has been really special."

ThruDark, a premium British high-performance clothing brand, supported the Jorvik Tricycles team by donating kits which were designed to meet the challenges demands.

This brand uses its founders’ 30 years of combined military experience to design clothing fit for extreme conditions, and through its charity programme they help to equip individuals and teams who are raising funds for organisations that are ‘making a positive impact’.

On the kit donation, ThruDark’s CEO Chris Reynolds said: "We're always proud to support endeavours through adversity and are delighted to have supplied kit for Jorvik Tricycles Three Peaks Challenge.”

“When you’re tackling the UK’s toughest hills, the right protective clothing can make all the difference. It was a pleasure to work alongside the team at Jorvik and incredibly inspiring to see effort put into raising money for Parkinson's UK."

Parkinson’s UK, the UK’s leading charity supporting people affected by Parkinson’s, funds groundbreaking research and provides vital advice and support whilst also campaigning to improve life for those living with the condition.

The funds raised by Jorvik will contribute directly to advancing treatments and ensuring individuals and families impacted by Parkinson’s will have access to care and information.
