Tucked just off the A1, down a peaceful country lane, Yorkshire Heart Vineyard and Brewery is a hidden gem in the heart of rural Yorkshire. What began in 2006 with a few vines has grown into a thriving 16-acre estate with 26,000 vines, a brewery, and a welcoming café.

The café is bright and friendly, serving hearty lunches and indulgent afternoon teas. The ploughman’s lunch was a real treat with generous portions of local cheese, a proper pork pie, and punchy piccalilli. The shop stocks the full range of Yorkshire Heart wines and beers, so visitors can easily take their favourites home.

Wine lovers are spoiled for choice, with an impressive selection of reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines. Prices start around £20 for still wines and rise to £55.50 for the sparkling range and the Kathleen, a vintage cuvée aged for seven years.

Among the collection, the Winemaker’s Choice Red Wine stands out as the perfect red for colder nights. Made from a blend of grape varieties, it pours a deep ruby red with aromas of vanilla and spice. On the palate, you get a slug of cherry and plum, with a soft tannin finish and a touch of pepper.

Beer connoisseurs will find plenty to enjoy, too. The brewery, founded in 2011, now produces 12 distinctive beers, with tasting deals offering 3 x 500ml bottles for £20, offering great value for quality Yorkshire craft brewing.

With weekly vineyard tours, tastings, and evening events, Yorkshire Heart is much more than a vineyard. It's a community hub, where locals pop in for afternoon tea, and tourists drop in for a taste of its sparkling wines.
