HECK! will host a second careers event on
2 May following a high turnout at its inaugural recruitment day earlier this year.
The Bedale-based food producer is seeking to fill several hands-on roles at its headquarters on Lime Lane, Kirklington. Positions available include team leaders and staff for the company’s mixing, picking, hygiene, and production departments.
The previous event in February saw hundreds of attendees tour the facility. The upcoming open day, running from 10am to 12pm, will offer site tours, "meet-and-greets" with current staff, and immediate short interviews for interested candidates.
“We were thrilled with the response to our first Jobs Open Day,” said HECK! co-founder Jamie Keeble. “It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic people and to showcase what makes working here so unique. Food production is exciting, fast-paced and rewarding and we’re excited to open our doors again on 2 May and to continue welcoming new talent into our team.”

The company, which has become one of the largest private employers in North Yorkshire, highlighted the success of the first event through the experience of a local resident named Jackie. After attending the February open day, she was hired as a production supervisor before transitioning into a technical coordinator role.
“Attending the first HECK! jobs open day was a turning point for me," Jackie said. "I initially stepped into a production supervisor role, but my background in quality control quickly came into play. Before long, I was given the opportunity to move into a Technical Coordinator position.”
The recruitment drive underscores the continued growth of the food manufacturing sector in North Yorkshire, an industry that remains a cornerstone of the regional economy.
