Welcome back to another week of sport; this week once more there is much on offer from across Yorkshire and a bit further afield.
Tuesday 21st October Sky Bet Championship Hull City v Leicester City 19:45
The second tier continues to serve up clashes to excite, and this week’s edition is recently relegated Leicester City travelling to the East Riding to face Hull City.
Both sides enter this matchup in decent form; Hull are unbeaten in three matches with one draw and back-to-back wins over Sheffield United and Birmingham. Their last game against the Blues was a five-goal thriller, with a 90+3 goal from Gelhardt being the difference in a 3-2 win.
Leicester have been on a stellar run with no losses in their last eight games in a run stretching back to late August.
Despite not losing for some time, wins have still been sparse, with just the three picked up. The most recent victory was a 3-1 away victory against Swansea on the 4th of October.
Their latest matchup was another draw, as the Foxes hosted and squandered a lead to draw 1-1 with Portsmouth.
Both sides are in the top half of the table, with Hull currently in tenth and just two points from playoffs in what is a congested top-six push. Leicester currently holds the fourth position and is just two points behind Hull, while being four points away from the automatic promotion spots.

Wednesday 22nd October, Sky Bet Championship, Sheffield Wednesday v Middlesbrough, 20:00
We stay in the Championship, with two Yorkshire sides clashing, with Middlesbrough travelling from north to south, where Wednesday await at Hillsborough.
There is not just a distinct geographical divide between the two, as they both occupy opposing ends of the table, with Boro just one point and place away from the top and Wednesday propping up the table in the bottom position.
Rob Edwards' Middlesbrough have been defying expectations with their run this season, with just a single loss in ten matches, which was prior to the international break in a 1-0 away loss to Portsmouth at Fratton Park. They have racked up the joint most wins in the division with six, along with three draws, which has them on 21 points.
That tally is 15 more than Wednesday have achieved with just six points and six losses in ten. They have failed to win in four, with most recently two losses on the spin with a 5-0 home loss to Coventry and a 2-1 loss to Charlton.
With reports also suggesting threats of a winding-up order could be on the way, the calamity off the pitch is set to continue, but the Owls will be hoping the unlikely could happen and the on-pitch action could spring surprises on an expectant Boro side looking to continue their push to the apex of the table.
Date: 22/10/2025
Time: 20:00
Venue: Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield
The match will be shown on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Football, and NOW TV.
Friday 24th October Gallagher Premiership Northampton Saints v Saracens 19:45
There is a top-of-the-table clash in the Gallagher Prem this week as leaders Northampton face second-placed Saracens at Franklin’s Gardens.
Saracens have had an almost perfect start in their four matches played thus far in the league, with three rather heavy victories over Newcastle (39-17), Bristol (50-17) and Sale Sharks (65-15).
Their only blip has been a tight 20-14 loss to Harlequins, which is the only thing separating them and Northampton. The Saints have not lost but have dropped points through a rare draw at home to Exeter Chiefs in a 33-33 affair.
Other than that slight derailing, the Saints have been consistent in achieving victory with three on the spin against Gloucester, Leicester and most recently Newcastle Red Bulls, who succumbed to a late barrage of points in the final five minutes through a penalty goal and conversion from Fin Smith following a Coles try.
Despite Northampton having a higher points tally, they actually have fewer points scored and more conceded than Saracens. This did not help when the two sides met in the Premiership Rugby Cup, as Saracens shipped 49 points at home and could only reply with 34.
Date: 24/10/2025
Time: 19:45
Venue: Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton
The match will be shown on TNT Sports.
