UKREiiF To Launch First Overseas Event In 2027

The company behind UKREiiF (The UK's Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum) has announced its first overseas event will be held in Australia.

The event is set to replicate the UKREiiF model for the Australian market; bringing together international and domestic investors, developers, occupiers and the wider built environment to connect them to opportunities within states, cities and towns to drive forward regeneration and economic growth.

It will focus on facilitating conversations around policy whilst connecting global capital to unlock ambitious investment visions across Australia covering all sectors of the built environment – from traditional industries like commercial, residential, transport, infrastructure and retail, to more emerging sectors such as renewable energy, digital infrastructure and defence.

Nathan Spencer, Founding Director and Managing Director of UKREiiF, said: "Australia is entering an extraordinary period of growth, and the global players within our industry are frequently discussing the opportunities coming forward in the country. Our ambition is to create something genuinely different for the Australian market – a major international festival that tells the stories of each state, city and town across Australia, and one that builds the relationships that see global capital deployed and projects moved forward.

"Since launching UKREiiF in 2022 we're aware of over £4billion of investment and development activity either at planning or spades in the ground stage all as a direct result of introductions and discussions held at UKREiiF and we're excited to bring this model and event to Australia to have a similar impact."

The launch represents a significant milestone for UKREiiF, which has grown rapidly since inception to become the UK's largest gathering for the real estate and infrastructure sector – bringing together more than 17,000 delegates in 2026. The 3-day event generates over £20m for the local economy of Leeds and West Yorkshire annually, where the event is held, and has created over £7m in social value. Over £300billion of investable opportunities in the UK are showcased at UKREiiF each year to thousands of investors, developers and occupiers.

Matt Christie, Founding Director and Director of External Affairs at UKREiiF, added: "The event will build on the principles that have driven UKREiiF's growth, including its festival-style, strong public and private sector participation and focus on connecting places and projects with investors, development partners and the wider built environment who are so crucial to making successful schemes happen. Alongside traditional sectors we'll explore those that will shape the next generation of investment across Australia – from housing, renewable energy and the energy transition, digital and AI infrastructure, social infrastructure, major sporting and cultural districts, creating successful city precincts and more.

"We'll also be continuing to focus on the core values we've had so close to our heart with UKREiiF, from sustainability to diversity and inclusion – with a commitment to creating a platform that reflects the breadth of communities, perspectives and voices that shape Australia."

Recruitment is currently being finalised with an announcement of the date and venue likely to be confirmed in the next few months. For those looking to discuss early opportunities to be involved in the event contact nathan.spencer@ukreiif.com
