SPG Resourcing is entering the resource augmentation market to provide technology-driven companies with access to specialist talent, eliminating the delays associated with traditional recruitment.
The launch comes as UK businesses grapple with an intensifying skills crisis. A recent Pearson survey and Forbes IT Skills Gap Report found that 93% of British business leaders believe the shortage of IT skills is holding back growth.
Leeds-based SPG says the problem is most acute in technical roles with software developers, cybersecurity analysts, cloud engineers, and data scientists among the hardest positions to fill, roles that have topped the UK’s most difficult vacancies list for five years running.
SPG’s service allows organisations to scale teams up or down at short notice, drawing on internal specialists and a vetted associate network. The company says this approach enables clients to plug skills gaps, meet tight deadlines, and handle workload spikes across disciplines from software engineering and cloud operations to data analytics, DevSecOps, and emerging technologies such as generative AI.
“This is about giving our clients the flexibility to move at pace without compromising on quality,” said Sam Hameed, group managing director of Solution Performance Group. “By combining our internal talent with our associate network, we can respond quickly and put the right expertise in place exactly when it’s needed.”
The move follows the launch of SPG Intelligence, a Solution Performance Group subsidiary focused on helping public and private sector clients modernise cloud infrastructure, strengthen digital security, and integrate AI tools such as automation and intelligent agents. Together, the two initiatives mark a broader push by the group to position itself at the intersection of talent, technology, and AI-driven transformation.
