Tunstall Road Farm, a working farm located in Yorkshire, is a tranquil destination bursting with life. The farm offers a private retreat for guests to stay in one of the three luxury 5-star self-catering properties and enjoy the perfect balance of relaxing and enjoying the countryside. Plus, you can bring along well-behaved pets to enjoy Yorkshire with your four-legged friends.

On the farm, you’ll find a mixture of species, including Belted Galloways, Hereford cattle, Hampshire Down sheep, outdoor-reared Berkshire pigs, and a few free-range hens. All the animals on the farm are native breeds. The farm is passionate about preserving pedigree lines and breeds that are built for the UK environment and registering the cattle, sheep, and pigs that are sold to pedigree breeders.

The farm follows regenerative farming practices, focusing on soil health, high animal welfare, and producing top-quality meat products.

Everything else is sold through the award-winning sister company, Tunstall Meat Company, which is just 5 miles up the road in nearby Richmond, working with Butcher Robert to produce high-quality meat from its local source. This is a great example of farm-to-fork and supporting small food systems.

Upon your visit, you can experience a farm tour by Megan, the farm manager, and learn all about the mixed species, farm-to-fork ethos, and how a working farm operates throughout the year.

Megan is passionate about animal welfare and making sure the farm is heading in the right direction for the future. This experience will give you an insight into life as a farmer and how each day is varied.

After your farm tour and learning about the animals, you can even order meat from the farm straight to your door from Tunstall Meat Company, which is a great way to know where your meat is coming from while also learning and educating the younger generation among us.

Recently, Tunstall Road Farm has been busy lambing and will soon be calving the Hereford cattle in the weeks ahead. If you visit anytime soon, you’ll get to see some of the baby Belted Galloways and meet little Bruce, the orphan Belted Galloway who is being hand-reared by farm assistant Kate and farm manager Megan.

This March, it’s National Pig Day, and at Tunstall Road Farm, you can see free-range Berkshire pigs. The best way to rear pigs is outdoors, resulting in incredible taste and high quality.

Tunstall Road Farm is passionate about Farm to Fork, aiming to make food systems fair, healthy, and environmentally friendly.

If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a few days, Tunstall Road Farm offers the perfect way to relax in a stunning location with the countryside on your doorstep.
