Fintel, a provider of fintech and support services to the UK retail financial services sector, has issued its unaudited trading update for the six months ended 30 June 2026, reporting strong trading momentum in line with board expectations.

Organic adjusted EBITDA grew 11.2% to £11.8m, compared with £10.6m in the first half of 2025, reflecting improved operational efficiency across the business. Organic revenue increased 2.0% to £37.4m, driven by a 2.9% rise in Software and Data revenue to £18.9m and a 1.1% increase in Services revenue to £18.5m.

Total continuing revenue reached £38.6m following the acquisition of Pearson Ham's market pricing business in January 2026 and the disposal of Gateway Surveying Services and APS Legal & Associates in April. Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and subscription revenue for the continuing business increased 7.9% to £26.1m.

The group maintained a strong balance sheet with £7.3m in cash and £76.5m of headroom in its £120m revolving credit facility. Net debt stood at £38.2m, representing a leverage ratio of 1.4x following investments in acquisitions, technology talent, and products.

Strategically, the period saw the launch of Omnicore, a whole-of-market distribution platform broadening access to mortgages and protection, alongside strong continued momentum in Defaqto Matrix360. The company also launched Trust, an AI-enabled compliance and oversight solution.

Matt Timmins, CEO of Fintel plc, said: “We have delivered a strong first half performance, with organic growth across our core Software, Data and Distribution activities, continued expansion in recurring revenues and double-digit EBITDA growth.

"Alongside this, we have continued to execute our strategic priorities, strengthening our technology and data capabilities and simplifying the Group to create a focused quality business. We remain confident in delivering further strategic and financial progress in 2026.”

Fintel is scheduled to release its full interim results for the six-month period on 15 September 2026.
