Cruising Down The River...
Viking, the luxury cruise line, has some new and exciting itineraries for next year.
Never been on a Viking river cruise before? Then it's time you did. There's no queuing for tenders to take you to the quayside to board your excursion transport; just walk off the boat and you're off.
If you want to explore after or instead of on an organised excursion, you are straight off your luxury floating hotel and into the destination you are moored at.
Viking River Cruises are pure five-star with luxury accommodation and sumptuous food in their restaurant and service that is out of this world.
Egypt: The Viking Ptah and the Viking Sekhmet will launch in 2026 and will join their growing fleet of state-of-the-art ships for the Nile River and will sail the popular 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary.
Mississippi: In 2026, a new itinerary called "Nashville, Memphis, and Cumberland" will be launched.
Guests will experience a slice of Americana as they wind their way along the Mississippi and Cumberland Rivers, journeying through more than two centuries of culture and history. Sample Kentucky’s famous bourbon, discover the history of the Cherokee people and gain insight into frontier settler life.
Overnight stays in Nashville and Memphis give guests more time to immerse themselves in the sounds of rock ’n’ roll and country music and savour a taste of Southern barbecue. Locations include Memphis; Cape Girardeau (the largest city between St. Louis and Memphis); Paducah in Kentucky, which is one of Kentucky’s hidden gems and a UNESCO Creative City; Clarksville in Tennessee, which is a centre of education and the arts; and Nashville.
Europe: A new 18-day combined itinerary sailing three of Europe’s most scenic rivers, called ‘Rhine, Main & Danube Odyssey’, launches in 2026. Guests will sail along the Main and Rhine rivers to see Basel, often regarded as Switzerland’s cultural capital, and sample the distinctive flavours of the Alsace region. Discover Frankfurt, a high-powered business hub, and visit the historic towns of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. See Salzburg, explore Göttweig Abbey; and make dumplings with Wachau Valley apricots.
Celebrate the musical heritage of Vienna and experience the healing qualities of Budapest’s thermal baths. Wow, that’s some itinerary expeditions.
