Christmas Spotlight: Liz Taylor, Founder Of Taylor Lyn Corporation (TLC) & CEO Of Liz Taylor Consultancy

As we approach the final days before Christmas, it's the turn of Liz Taylor, founder of Taylor Lyn Corporation (TLC) and CEO of Liz Taylor Consultancy, to continue our 2025 popular festive spotlight—featuring regional businesspeople from across the north answering 12 quickfire questions.

1. What were you hoping to achieve by December when you sat down in January — and did you get there?

I don’t wait for January to set ambitions. I’m always looking ahead, always raising the bar. At the start of 2025 though, the focus for TLC was clear: elevate our creative output once again, expand our corporate and private event portfolio, and keep delivering experiences that stand apart from the rest. I’m pleased to say we achieved exactly that. Alongside it, the consultancy continued to grow, with new speaking, mentoring and strategic projects that complement everything we do at TLC.

2. Three moments from 2025 that made me proud of TLC:

A bumper summer season that took us from the grandeur of Manchester Cathedral one day to the shores of Lone Star Barbados, the very next. A testament to the scale, diversity and creativity of TLC’s work.
Expanding the team to meet that demand. Watching new talent slot in seamlessly and elevate what we do was a real highlight.
Completing the successful sale of TLC after three incredible decades. A defining milestone and the beginning of an exciting next chapter for both the business and for me.

3. Biggest headache this year

Economic instability has been a constant backdrop. Rising costs, shifting budgets, and clients feeling the pressure all trickle down into the events industry. Add to that the unpredictability across the hospitality supply chain, and you’ve got a challenging mix. You can plan the most creative, meticulous event, but you’re still navigating availability, timing issues and fluctuating prices. It keeps you agile, but it has certainly been on of the challenges this year.

4. If 2025 were a Christmas film title…

A Christmas to Remember. A year of new and unpredictable challenges, bold ideas and memorable moments

5. Number one priority when TLC “reopens” in January

Handing the baton with a Sharp strategic focus. We’ll be refining the kinds of events we want to champion, strengthening our creative direction, and ensuring we head into 2026 with a strong, ambitious pipeline. And we’re hitting the ground running. January is already botany. Alongside that, the consultancy will continue to grow in tandem with the creative work and I am focusing on my public speaking. The two feed each other beautifully.

6. Which business in the region has caught my eye this year — for all the right reasons?

Several Yorkshire hospitality brands that are investing in experiential luxury. They’re elevating service, design and the overall guest journey. Not just offering a stay, but creating something memorable. Their ambition to stand out through quality and attention to detail has really impressed me.

7. Crystal ball time: what does 2026 hold for businesses like TLC?

A rising demand for meaningful, high-quality event experiences. People want more than a party. They want connection, storytelling and impact. Creative agencies with strategic thinking, authenticity and imagination at their core will thrive. TLC is well placed for that next chapter.

8. This Christmas — “full production” household or “feet up and telly”?

A bit of both. There’ll always be a little sparkle. I can’t resist. But after a busy year, family, calm and comfort will take priority. And of course NYE at Lonestar Barbados with The Swan Band …and a few suprises thrown in!

9. Crackers, Brussels sprouts or pudding — which best describes your year?

Crackers. Colourful, surprising and full of little bursts of magic.

10. Which business book, podcast or piece of advice has been TLC’s “surprise hit” of the year?

My own podcast, Events That Made Me: Boardroom to Box Office. The conversations; honest, emotional and insightful have influenced how I think about creativity, storytelling and the guest journey. It feeds directly into my work with TLC and LTC.

11. As you wind down for the festive break, what are you most looking forward to switching off from?

Truthfully, I never fully switch off. With my younger daughter and family in New York I am heading there for Christmas and then on to Barbados for New Year. That’s where I make new friends, memories and a client or two!

12. In twenty-five words or fewer, what would you say to your clients, partners and supporters heading into 2026?

Thank you for your trust and collaboration. Here’s to imagining bigger, creating bolder, and turning extraordinary ideas into unforgettable experiences.
