Much-loved Yorkshire campsite celebrates 94% recommendation score and there’s still time to book a summer stay!

Catgill Farm Camping & Glamping, located in the stunning Yorkshire Dales near Bolton Abbey, is proud to announce it has been named one of Campsites.co.uk’s Outstanding Sites for 2025. This recognition highlights the UK’s ‘most reliably excellent camping, glamping, and touring destinations’, chosen for their exceptional guest reviews, high service standards, and overall visitor experience.

Catgill Farm received glowing praise from visitors, with 94% of guests saying they would recommend the site to friends and family. And with nearly 600 reviews and an average score of 4.83 out of 5, Catgill continues to stand out as a firm favourite for families, couples, and adventure-seekers alike.

Owned by husband-and-wife team Cat and Oliver Barker, Catgill Farm is a true family-run success story. What began as a bold idea to transform Oliver’s family dairy farm has grown into one of the UK’s most celebrated camping destinations thanks to their hands-on approach, creative flair, and commitment to making every guest feel right at home.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be recognised as one of the UK’s Outstanding Sites for 2025,” says owner Oliver Barker. “We’ve poured so much love, energy and imagination into Catgill over the years, from building our very own pizza kitchen by hand to dreaming up new features that make our guests smile, so it means the world to see that effort recognised. We absolutely love this place, and it’s brilliant to know so many of our visitors do too. We’ve seen a big increase in guests this year, with lots of returning faces and plenty of newcomers discovering us for themselves. It’s a real buzz and we’re full of ideas for what’s next!”

What makes Catgill Farm outstanding?

Spacious, scenic tent pitches with panoramic views of the Wharfe Valley and rolling Yorkshire countryside.

Immaculate, modern facilities including fabulous hot showers, sparkling toilets, and well-kept washing-up areas.

A brand-new play area that keeps little campers entertained for hours (ideal for families looking to relax while the kids run wild).

Friendly alpacas on-site, ready to charm guests of all ages (and pose for the occasional selfie!).

Delicious stone-baked pizzas and barista coffee from the on-site café – because camping should still taste great.

Peaceful, picture-perfect location within walking distance of Bolton Abbey, riverside walks, and top local attractions.

A welcoming, family-run atmosphere where everyone feels at home and many guests return year after year.

As the school holidays roll on, Catgill Farm is encouraging late bookers to snap up their remaining summer availability.

“We still can’t quite believe how far Catgill has come,” adds Cat. “It started with a handful of pitches and a bit of a dream, and now we’re welcoming thousands of guests each year. What’s really special is that people don’t just come here to camp, they come to make memories. Whether its kids running wild in the new play area, families eating pizza under the stars, or someone meeting an alpaca for the first time, we feel incredibly lucky to be a small part of those moments. We live and breathe this place, and every little detail reflects that.”
