Rowan Campbell-Pilling’s 2026 racing campaign will get underway this week as Silverstone hosts the opening round of the 2026 UK GB3 Championship.

The Sheffield driver has made the step up to GB3, the UK’s leading single-seater category, after two successful seasons in F4, which saw him finish in the top 10 standings.

The GB3 championship will be contested across eight different events, including at five popular Formula 1 circuits: Spa-Francorchamps, Hungaroring, Barcelona-Catalunya, Silverstone and the Red Bull Ring.

At the start of the GB3 Championship, Campbell-Pilling said, "I'm thrilled to be continuing my journey with Xcel Motorsport for my first GB3 season. We built something really strong together during the F4 Trophy Series over winter, and I can't wait to take that momentum into Silverstone and beyond.”

“Racing across five countries in Europe, this championship is a huge step up, and it’s an honour to keep flying the flag for Sheffield every step of the way.”

For the 2026 season Campbell-Pilling has rejoined Dubai-based Xcel Motorsport, who race in both the British F4 and MSV GB3 championships, the team who were responsible for his UAE successes, which included a race win in Yas Marina.

He has already impressed at pre-season testing as the Yorkshire driver, who has collected more than 30 trophies and awards during his career so far, finished P1 in the final race and P2 overall.

On Campbell-Pilling’s upcoming campaign, Xcel Motorsport’s GB3 Team Manager Gary Bonnor said, "We're extremely excited to welcome Rowan to our GB3 programme for 2026. He’s a driver who has consistently impressed us with his work ethic, commitment and attitude.”

“Rowan is incredibly hard working and has already spent a lot of time with the team, which gives us great confidence that he’ll adapt quickly and hit the ground running. We’re really looking forward to working closely with him as he takes this next step in his career.”

His GB3 car, which was unveiled at the ‘Over the Horizon’ launch event in February this year, has had numerous upgrades added ahead of this season, including an increased 2.4L engine which will allow the driver to reach speeds of over 150mph.

The car has also seen upgrades implemented in aerodynamics as well as the use of a Drag Reduction System (DRS), which are the same as those that were used in Formula 1 vehicles, enhancing its performance and competitiveness on the track.

This year, Rowan is supported by regional partners Altitude, Exol Lubricants, H Harrold & Sons, Hydra Creative, Made in Sheffield, Rathbones PLC, Simoda and UX Global.
