Celebration - Modern British Abstract Painting
An exhibition of artworks – many never seen before – by some of the biggest names in Modern British Abstract art, including John Hoyland, Patrick Heron, Gillian Ayres and Albert Irvin is now on show at Harrogate’s Mercer Art Gallery. The middle years of the 20th Century saw a sea change in the British art scene, triggered by the first UK exhibitions of the theatrical, visceral abstract art by American artists like Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko.

Sam Fender
Newcastle native Sam Fender is returning to his hometown to perform an exclusive gig on Tuesday 24 May. The intimate show will offer a unique opportunity for fans to see the singer-songwriter up-close-and-personal on the back of his sell-out arena tour.
