Lovers of classic cars should put 19th-21st July in their diaries. For that is when ‘Yorkshire Elegance’, an exciting three-day classic and prestige car event will take place, in aid of Yorkshire Children’s Charity.

The event has been organised by the appropriately named Fast Lane Club and is supported by Jonathan Turner, classic car enthusiast par excellence and owner of Bowcliffe Hall and the Yorke Arms at Ramsgill, near Pateley Bridge.

For those not familiar with the charity, its primary purpose is to support the region’s most vulnerable and disenfranchised children, and with soaring inflation, the public’s generous donations are needed more than ever.

Kicking off on Tuesday 19th with the Harewood Hillclimb, spectators will see more than 70 classic and prestige cars running up the famous hill. Aston Martin, Jaguar, Austin Healey, Bentley, Porsche and Ferrari will all be represented.

VIP ticket holders will also be invited to drive their cars on the track, with all guests free to roam and view the stunning cars in the paddock.

I hope to attend, confident in the knowledge that a day at the Harewood Hillclimb is always an exciting one.

The second day will be held at the stunning Bowcliffe Hall, near Wetherby, in celebration of 100 years of Jaguar and Ferrari’s 75th Anniversary. A prestigious Concours Competition and parade around the grounds will take place, a spectacle no doubt.

A delicious BBQ and Spanish tapas will be on offer to guests, with live music and a huge display of classic and prestige cars to peruse.

The final day of the prestige event will see the Yorkshire Driving Tour take to the road for VIP ticket holders, leaving from Bowcliffe Hall. Lunch will be served at Swinton Park and the trip will finish with afternoon tea at Grantley Hall.

A finale dinner will also be held at Grantley Hall, with an overnight stay at probably Yorkshire’s finest hotel.

Charlotte Farrington, CEO at Yorkshire Children’s Charity said:
“This is one of the most exciting events in our 2022 calendar and we are thrilled with the support from The Fast Lane Club and Jonathan Turner. Prestige fundraising events such as these are vital for our charity and will make a huge impact on the support we can offer to children and families across Yorkshire who are supported by Yorkshire Children’s Charity.”

Simon Smith, Managing Director of the Fast Lane Club said:
“All the glamorous and high-end car events take place in the south of England. We don’t have a prestige event in the north which is why we created Yorkshire Elegance – a right good, fancy car event in Yorkshire!

“We will be bringing an incredible collection of classic and prestige modern cars together for three wonderful days for anyone to come and enjoy. We don’t know of another event that combines fun on a track, a wonderful garden party, a driving tour and finale dinner. It is tremendous to be working with the team at Yorkshire Children’s Charity, to raise awareness and funds for such a special organisation.”

Day tickets start at £39pp and VIP packages are available including access to all three days, overnight stays and VIP ‘perks’.
