York G&T In A Can Launches In Middle Of Heatwave In Time For World Gin Day

York Gin is launching its brand new G&T in a can in the middle of the current heatwave, and in time for World Gin Day on 12 June.

The new cans, launching on today are perfect for picnics and BBQs. Looking at the weather forecast, there will be plenty of these over the next couple of weeks!

The company is launching two G&Ts - a classic gin and tonic and a ‘Berry Fizz’ with added natural fruit flavours. Both use their award-winning London Dry as their base along with a premium bespoke light tonic.

Says York Gin co-founder, Pete McNichol: ‘We’ve been experimenting with the gin and tonic recipes for several months - it’s harder than you might imagine to make the perfect G&T in a can. But we’re there! Our premium light tonic complements our London Dry gin beautifully.

‘At 6.5%, the tonic doesn’t overpower the gin - it’s an excellent classic G&T that we believe is up there with the best on the market. The Berry Fizz is a lovely refreshing option with natural fruit - it will go down a storm in the current heatwave.'

The Great Taste Awards describe York Gin London Dry as ‘perfect’. Among its many international medals is a Gold from the New York International Spirits Competition 2020.

The gin is mixed with a bespoke premium light tonic developed especially for the new 6.5% drinks. The Berry Fizz G&T has added natural fruit flavours.

The gins will have the following RRP: £3 per can; £11 per 4 pack; £40 per 16 pack.

The 250ml cans are now available from yorkgin.com and the York Gin shop.

From next week, they will be on sale at House of Townend wine merchants, online at Master of Malt, at the House of the Trembling Madness in York, Field & Fawcett wine merchants just outside York, McMillans of Malton, Tate Smith, and a rapidly growing list of other wholesalers and retailers.

This is York Gin’s first foray into the ready to drink market, having already made its reputation making some of the world’s best gin, winning gold medals at the world’s most prestigious spirits competitions.

Most recently York Gin won England Distillery of the Year 2021 at the New York International Spirits Competition.
