Welcome To Yorkshire And York Gin Have Started The Search For Yorkshire’s Favourite Picnic Spot.

The search is on for Yorkshire's favourite picnic spot - just as York Gin & Tonic cans hit the shops.

Welcome to Yorkshire and York Gin are launching the search on World Gin Day 12 June. The new cans are ideal for picnics.

The competition on the Welcome to Yorkshire Facebook page - facebook.com/welcometoyorkshire - runs from 12 to 30 June.

First prize is a luxury York Gin & Tonic hamper with runners-up winning four packs of the cans.

The new 250ml cans include a classic G&T made with York Gin London Dry and light tonic, and a 'Berry Fizz' G&T with natural fruit flavours added. They're both 6.5%.

Winners will be chosen at random during the first week of July.

York Gin co-founder, Emma Godivala said: ‘We think Yorkshire is the best place in the world for a picnic.

‘We have The Dales, the Yorkshire coast, our fabulous city parks - and there are beautiful areas of unspoiled beauty almost everywhere you turn. So we want to know where you love to have a picnic. Imagine how much better it would taste with a can of York Gin & Tonic!'

The cans are available from yorkgin.com and the York Gin shop as well as wine merchants House of Townend and Field & Fawcett, online at Master of Malt, York’s House of Trembling Madness, Malton’s McMillans, Tate Smith and a rapidly growing number of retailers and wholesalers.

York Gin’s G&Ts in a can

York Gin have spent several months developing their classic G&T and ‘Berry Fizz’ G&T.

Both use multiple award-winning York Gin London Dry as their base - the Great Taste Awards 2019 describe York Gin’s original gin as ‘perfect’. It won Gold at the New York International Spirits Competition 2020.

The gin is mixed with a bespoke premium light tonic developed especially for the new 6.5% drinks. The Berry Fizz also has added natural fruit flavours.

This is York Gin’s first foray into the ready to drink market, having already made its reputation making some of the world's best gins.
