UK CEO Microsoft Clare Barclay Elected As Non-executive Director On The CBI's Board

Clare Barclay, CEO of Microsoft UK, has been elected by CBI members as a Non-Executive Director at the CBI AGM on Tuesday 8 June. She will join the CBI Board responsible for the strategic and financial decisions at the CBI alongside several Non-Executive Directors, the Director General and the Finance Director all of which is chaired by the CBI President on a quarterly basis.

Clare is Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft UK where she is responsible for all of Microsoft's product and service offerings in the UK. With nearly three decades in the IT industry, Clare has a deep passion for diversity and inclusion and for helping young people succeed in tech careers across the sector.

Clare was previously Microsoft’s UK Chief Operating Officer for four years. Prior to that she was also the General Manager of the Small, Medium Enterprise & Partner Group. In this role she led a team driving sales and marketing efforts, and providing comprehensive solutions for small to medium-sized businesses.

In 2019, Clare was appointed to the Advisory Council of the British Heart Foundation. She is also a member of the CBI's President’s Committee.
