Press-On Vinyl, an innovative new business offering a UK-based vinyl pressing service for the record industry will launch this Autumn. Based in Middlesbrough, the business venture is backed by the Yorkshire based Futuresound Group and is ready to offer a solution to the vinyl pressing delays currently facing the independent music industry.

Currently the vast majority of vinyl pressing plants are based on the European mainland, but Brexit and the COVID pandemic have meant that UK based record companies and musicians are having to wait longer than ever for their vinyl to be delivered. Press-On Vinyl are combining their manufacturing capability with the Futuresound Group’s contacts in the music industry to offer a better service closer to home for UK based record labels and artists.

Following investment from Futuresound Group, Press-On have scoured the world to find the latest in record manufacturing technology, machinery, knowledge and experience for the new plant in Middlesbrough. Their state-of-the-art facility offers high quality record production for artists and labels of all sizes.

The plant’s home of Middlesbrough has a rich history in industrial innovation, and adding this world class manufacturing facility and all its associated benefits to the area is a proud achievement for the team of music professionals from the North.

All raw materials will be sourced regionally where possible to reduce carbon footprint, and the production service will be opened to a broad base of carefully selected record labels, independent artists and partners when production begins in Autumn 2021.

Futuresound Group MD Colin Oliver said:“Though the recent restrictions put a lot of our activities on hold we have been working hard in a number of areas, and when Press-On vinyl came onto my radar having 2 record labels as part of the group I could see the issues with the UK vinyl supply and had to get involved. The team at Press-On have a huge passion and independent spirit and I’m excited about working with them further and offering our expertise and support from the wider group.”
