New Range Rover Sport Revealed

The third generation of Land Rover’s luxury performance SUV aims to be the most desirable, technologically advanced and capable yet, mixing an imposing road presence with sharp driving responses, using the most advanced combination of chassis technologies ever fitted to a Land Rover.

The new Range Rover Sport sits on Land Rover’s advanced, flexible platform which provides the foundations for superior dynamics and peerless refinement. The line-up of engines includes two six-cylinder extended range Electric Hybrid plug-ins, which provide a pure electric driving range of up to 70 miles and CO2 emissions as low as 18g/km.

For the power crazed, there is a new 530PS V8 Twin Turbo which provides sports car like performance, ably demonstrated by the 0-60mph time of just 4.3 seconds using the car’s Dynamic Launch control.

Also on offer are powerful and efficient mild hybrid petrol and diesel Ingenium engines, with a fully electric model due in 2024.

Chief Creative Officer, Gerry McGovern said of his new baby:
“Our latest Range Rover Sport embraces fully our modernist approach of vehicle design whilst amplifying its unquestionable sporting and confident character.”

Step inside and there is an all-new interior to behold. Featuring a new cockpit-like interpretation of the trademark Range Rover Command Driving Position, the latest convenience and driver assistance technologies and finest materials combine to ensure every drive is an experience to savour.

A more dynamic driving experience is also the aim, with a suite of technologies governed by Land Rover’s chassis control system working in harmony to provide instinctive responses and agility.

A new Stormer Handling Pack will be offered and aims to provide the ultimate combination of chassis technologies for an exciting drive. All-wheel steering will feature on the Sport for the first time for improved low-speed manoeuvrability and unrivalled agility.

Dynamic Air Suspension introduces switchable volume air springs for the first time and is fitted to every new Range Rover Sport. The intelligent system can vary the pressure withing the airbags to deliver traditional Range Rover comfort with the dynamic handling expected from the Sport model.

To optimise responses, the vehicle monitors the road ahead using navigation data to pre-emptively prime the vehicle for upcoming bends.

The latest all-wheel drive system should ensure peerless off-road capabilities, and this is enhanced by an Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control which debuts on the Sport. It will help drivers navigate tricky terrain by maintaining steady progress according to the ground conditions. Drivers can select one of four comfort settings and the system intelligently adjusts the speed, allowing the driver to concentrate on the steering.
