Eight Yorkshire Scaleups Go Head To Head In Competition To Find The Next Tech Titan

Eight fast growth businesses from across Yorkshire and the Humber and two from the North East have been shortlisted to pitch their businesses to a panel of industry experts in a global search for the next big tech pioneer.

Following the success of KPMG’s Best British Tech Pioneer, which, for the last seven years has uncovered a host of tech unicorns, the competition has this year gone global. Ten tech businesses from Yorkshire and the North East have been selected from almost 200 entries to pitch against each other to find two innovators who will represent the region at the UK finals in July. The overall UK winner will secure a place at Web Summit in Lisbon in November, where they will compete against tech innovators from at least 15 other countries across most major regions of the world to be crowned KPMG’s Global Tech Pioneer.

The eight shortlisted scaleups selected for Yorkshire and Humber are: Additive Manufacturing Technologies Ltd, Glean (formerly Sonocent), Hero wellbeing, Hyper Group, Moodbeam, PinPoint Data Science Limited, Slingshot Simulations and Vet-AI.

On Wednesday, 9 June, the scaleups will go compete against each other and Cognassist and Hirestreet Limited & Zoa Rental who have been shortlisted from the North East to gain a spot in the UK finals.

Over the years, this competition has uncovered some of the most exciting and fast growth businesses that the UK has to offer, such as BigChange, Babylon Health, What3Words and VividQ.
