Curtain Rises At Town’s Theatre

The Kirk Theatre in Pickering is planning to reopen post-Covid next month. The theatre has remained closed since the pandemic started in March 2020.

Theatre manager Luke Arnold said:
“The past 18 months have been extremely difficult for the theatre. Covid forced us to close the doors and cancel numerous productions. We have managed to weather the storm thanks to the generosity of local people in the form of donations made to our online Covid fund." (https://donorbox.org/kirk-theatre).

The Kirk Theatre will reopen on Saturday, October 23, with a special concert performed by the Pickering Musical Society featuring music from your favourite musicals.

This event will be compèred by Ryedale’s star of Yorkshire Dialect Adam Collier. Adam has also agreed to perform his annual Yorkshire Day Celebration in November and is looking forward to getting back to live performance having moved online during the pandemic performing most weeks on Facebook.
